Emergency Medical Technician
Emergency Medical Technicians are trained to recognize, assess, and manage medical emergencies of acutely ill patients. They are usually the first responders to a medical emergency, providing patient care and then transporting the sick or injured to medical facilities.

Work Environment:
Employment is available in fire departments, municipal ambulance services, private ambulance companies, hospitals, clinics, medical flight companies, and private businesses.

Job Outlook:
Employment is projected to grow faster than average as paid EMTs replace unpaid volunteers.

Licensure/Certification:
National EMT certification is required.

Salary:
Salary may range from $15,000 - $49,000
